Uno Flip Stranger Things Edition
We’re back with a new edition of Uno Flip Rules! This time, we’re taking a look at the best show of Netflix’s “Stranger Things.”
A few months ago I was having a conversation with my brother and he said, “I’m sure there’s a way to play Uno with the rules of Stranger Things.” And there is. I am still stunned by how small the world is, he thought and Mattel and Netflix made that. Well, without any further a due let’s get into this uno flip edition.
Uno Flip Contents
112 Double-Sided Cards
Uno Flip Stranger Things Edition Special Cards
Real World Side Action Cards
Draw One Card
Draw one is a powerful card, it has a direct impact on the opponents. If someone throws draw one that means the next player has to pick up 1 card from the draw pile and forfeit his/her turn.
Reverse Card
This card changes the direction of the turns. If turns are going clockwise then after placing the reverse card turn will go anti-clockwise.
Skip Card
Skip will skip the next player’s turn and he will play on their next turn until someone changes the direction or throw the skip card again 😜.
Wild Jim Hopper Card
The player with the MOST cards in their hand gets to discard half of their cards (if the number of cards in their hand is an odd number, discard the larger amount). This is also a Wild card, so the player who first laid it down gets to call the color that continues to play.
Wild Draw 2 Card
+2 wild card is the most powerful card on the light side of the game. If players throw this card then, first of all, he/she will decide the color and the next player has to pick up 2 cards from the draw pile and loses their turn. This card is only played if he/she doesn’t have any other card left to play.
However, If you suspect that a Wild Draw card has been played on you illegally (i.e. the player has a matching card), then you may challenge that player. The challenged player must show you (the challenger) their hand. If guilty, the challenged player must draw the 2 cards instead of you. However, if the challenged player is innocent, you must draw the 2 cards PLUS an additional 2 cards (4 total)!
Flip Card
By the name of this card, you got to know what this card meant. When you play this card, everything flips upside down (Light Side to the Dark Side ) or vice versa. Once the Flip card has been placed in the draw pile, flip the Discard Pile, the Draw Pile and everyone’s hands must flip to the other side.
Upside Down Action Cards
Draw 5 Card
When you play this card, the next player must draw five cards and miss their turn. This card may only be played on a matching color or on another Draw Five card.
Reverse Card
This card changes the direction of the turns. If turns are going clockwise then after placing the reverse card turn will go anti-clockwise.
Skip Everyone card
Now here is a twist, the dark side skip card skip’s everyone chance and the player who throws this card will play again.
Wild Eleven’s Waffle Card
The player with the FEWEST cards must draw cards until they get a card with a Waffle Icon on it. This is also a Wild card, so the player who first laid it down gets to call the color that continues to play.
Wild Draw Color Card
This is a very interesting and new concept card. Wild draw color card, the next player has to pick up the cards from the draw pile until he/she gets the particular color from the draw pile and the player has to lose their turn. Color will be selected by the player who throws the card. This card is only played if he/she doesn’t have any other card left to play.
However, If you suspect that a Wild Draw Color card has been played on you illegally (i.e. the player has a matching card), then you may challenge that player. The challenged player must show you (the challenger) their hand. If guilty, the challenged player must draw the cards until they get the chosen color instead of you. However, if the challenged player is innocent, you must draw the cards until you get the chosen color PLUS an additional 2 cards!
Dark Flip Card
When you play this card, everything flips upside down (Dark Side to Light Side ). Once the Flip card has been placed in the draw pile, flip the Discard Pile, the Draw Pile and everyone’s hands must flip to the other side.
How to Play
The game is very easy just like the original UNO Flip rules with a twist that it has flip side and this particular thing makes this game so unique and interesting. The Uno flip card game can be played with two or more players.
- To start the game, each player is dealt 7 cards. The remaining cards are placed in the middle of the players as a draw pile, face down.
- The player who is sitting on the left side of the dealer will start the game or you can decide on your own.
- Before any player plays their card they must put one card from the draw pile and place it in the center of everyone. The player can choose his card by matching the number or color from the center-placed card. If the card is matched then the game continues to the next player. If they cannot play the card they must either draw another card from the draw pile and end their turn by saying “SKIP” or place the card in the building pile if they got a playable card from the draw pile.
- The first player to play all of their cards wins the match but to win the whole game you have to check the scoring points section.
Uno Flip Stranger Things Edition Scoring Points
So, let’s talk about how to calculate the score and who will win the game and how. Basically, the player who gets rid from all of their cards won the game and all of their opponent’s points will be yours and the whoever reaches first 500 points will win the match.
Alternative Scoring & Winning
Another way to score points is to keep a running tally of the points each player is left with at the end of each round. When one player reaches 500 points, the player with the lowest points is the winner.
Here below we have listed the score points of each card and according to this, you can calculate the score.
All Number Cards (1-9) | Face Value |
Draw One | 10 Points |
Draw Five | 20 Points |
Skip | 20 Points |
Reverse | 20 Points |
Flip | 20 Points |
Skip Everyone | 30 Points |
Wild Jim Hopper Card | 40 Points |

My Thoughts
I really like the original uno flip and my siblings too and I think that stranger things is the perfect theme that fits in the Uno flip edition. I seriously didn’t expect that this game will have such new rules and action cards but it has, the only thing which can create a mess in this game is the waffle rule basically wild eleven’s waffle card where the player needs to pick up the cards until waffle sign card comes and sometimes it takes a lot of time to come and the player gets irritated there player starts losing their interest in the game otherwise it’s fun to play this game with friends and family. I hope you guys also liked this in-depth post written by me. Do tell us to know in the comment section which game we should cover next.
