One day, Merle and his son got into a heated debate about who could create the better game. Merle claimed that he could make a game that was even better than his son’s, but his son didn’t believe him. To prove it, Merle created a new game called UNO. Merle and his son continued to playtest the game and eventually started selling it at local stores. The game was an instant hit and people all over the world began playing it. Today, UNO is one of the most popular card games in the world. The history of UNO is a story of family, competition, and fun. Though Merle Robbins passed away in 1984 but the game is still on and people are playing with all the interest and excitement although it’s been more than 5 decades the game came out. Robbins put together a prototype of the game and took it to a local toy store, where the owner liked it so much that he ordered 5,000 copies. With that, Robbins had his first big success. It wasn’t long before Uno was being sold in stores across the country. In 1976, the game was officially licensed by Mattel, who began mass-producing it. Over the next few years, Uno became one of the most popular games in the world.
